Purpose

  • To openly honor an Outstanding Sports Massage Team that has provided exceptional accomplishments in the area of sports
  • To acknowledge and promote achievement(s) deserving of said recognition by persons involved
  • To recognize team effort 

History

  • Award established in 1996
  • To be given annually
  • Award is selected and kept unannounced until time of presentation
  • Award may be given to more than one (1) team and all said therein per year. Includes but not limited to committees of the past is to be honored
  • Team names printed in Hands On
  • Recipient name is engraved on a plaque at the National Office 

Qualifications

  • Team accomplishment(s) exceed expectations in a timely and cooperative manner
  • Cooperation and team play are displayed on team
  • Teams are in good standing at the time of award consideration
  • This award may be given posthumously
  • May include but is not limited to accomplishments that enhance the visibility, prestige and acceptance of sports massage and sports massage therapists to the general public and the other components of the sports community
  • Team members may serve on more than one (1) committee
  • More than one (1) team may be selected per year
  • Team may be a past recipient of another National Outstanding Sports Massage Team Award
  • Recommended by the Awards Workgroup
  • Approved by the Executive Committee
