Q. What information do you need about my friends?
A. Please be prepared to provide your friend’s name,
address, a primary phone, and an email address. Also
please indicate whether they would be joining as a
Student or a Professional member.
Q. Will you give out my friend’s contact information?
A. All information provided for the Refer-a-Friend
promotion will be stored securely, and will not be sold
to a third party.
Q. How long does this offer last?
A. The Professional Refer-a-Friend program is now an
ongoing promotion. The Student Refer-a-Friend Program
will run through February 28, 2011.
Q. I referred several people. How will I know when they
joined?
A. We will send you an e-mail letting you know which
friends have joined and how much will be credited on
your next membership renewal.
Q. How do I redeem my credits for my next membership
renewal?
A. Please call an amta representative at 877-905-2700
to redeem your credits with your renewal. Credits
cannot be redeemed online.
Q. Will my credit be on my renewal notice?
A. No. Please call an amta representative at
877-905-2700 to redeem your credits with your renewal.
Q. I just referred two people from my clinic and they
have both joined within the last month. Does this still
apply? How far back does this offer go?
A. We can accept Professional referrals beginning
December 1, 2008. We started accepting Student referrals
on May 1, 2010.
Q. Do my friends who already joined get reimbursed
for the $199 Professional rate?
A. While we are delighted your friends have joined
AMTA, we cannot reimburse them for the special rate.
However, they can immediately begin referring friends to
take advantage of the $50 credit per referral, for up to
five friends.
Q. I’m a Student who was referred. Do I get a
discounted rate?
A. Students who are referred will pay the regular $79
plus chapter fee rate, but will receive any current
promotional item for new Student members if one is being
offered.
Q. What if I earn enough Refer-a-Friend Credits to
pay for my membership? Do any additional credits carry
over?
A. You can refer any combination of Professional and
Student members to AMTA until your credits equal your
renewal cost. After that, you cannot earn additional
credits until your membership is renewed.
Q. Can you send me the check?
A. The amount you earn in friend referrals will be
deducted from your next membership renewal. Please call
in to renew to insure your credits are applied. If you
renew online your credits will not automatically be
applied and you will be charged the full amount.
Q. Do chapters still get their portion of the dues?
A. Absolutely!
Q. If a friend refers me, do I have to wait for AMTA
to contact me in order to take advantage of this special
first-year professional rate of $199, plus chapter fee.
